About Governing Council and Its Members

The Institution has well organizational structure to improve alignment with defined institutional priorities, strategic planning, and quality assurance processes. At the top we have Governing Body Council. It is constituted with eminent personalities and run the institute towards its vision and missions. All the financial and academic plans shall be ratified by the body before they executed.

Term: The Governing Body shall be reconstituted every three years except in the case of UGC nominee who shall have a term of five years.

Meetings: Meetings of the Governing Body shall be held twice in a year. Meetings proceedings shall be recorded for the future purposes.

Functions of the Governing Body:

The Governing Body shall:

  • Guide the college while fulfilling the objectives for which the college has been granted autonomous status. (Guide the stakeholders in developing strategic plans, policies, and execution strategies aligned with the Institute Vision and Mission.)
  • Institute scholarships, fellowships, studentships, medals, prizes, and certificates on the recommendations of the Academic Council. (Review and approve scholarships, medals, prizes, and certificates based on Academic Council recommendations.)
  • Approve new programmes of study leading to degrees and/or diplomas. (Review and approve new/emerging programmes, intake changes, or discontinuation of programmes.)
  • All recruitments of Teaching Faculty/Principal shall be made as per UGC and State Government policies. (Review and approve recruitment notifications for faculty and staff positions.)
  • Approve the annual budget of the college before submitting to the UGC. (Review and approve annual budget proposals.)
  • Perform other functions and constitute committees for institutional development. (Review and empower committees for smooth functioning and overall development.)
