The department of CSE conducted a One Day Awareness Program on “The Rise of Generative AI: Opportunities and Challenges” in association with IEEE CS Student branch chapter-17901B on 18th December 2025. The Chief Guest Mr.Uma Desu,Chief Executive Officer ,Intellindia, Dr.S.Md.Farooq ,HoD of CSE Dept. Dr.M.V.Subramanyam, Principal of SREC,Mrs.V.Lakshmi Chaitanya Program Coordinator, Faculty,Staff and 120 II CSE Students are participated in this program. The program began with an inaugural session highlighting the importance of Artificial Intelligence in the modern digital era. The resource person Mr.Uma Desu explained the evolution of AI, focusing on Generative AI models such as ChatGPT, DALL-E, and GANs, which are capable of generating text, images, code, and other creative content. The session emphasized how Generative AI differs from traditional AI by learning patterns from large datasets and producing new, human-like outputs.During the session, various opportunities of Generative AI were discussed in detail. Applications in education, healthcare, software development, cybersecurity, content creation, and research were highlighted. The speaker explained how Generative AI can assist in personalized learning, automated coding, medical diagnosis support, data analysis, and intelligent decision-making. The role of Generative AI in improving productivity, innovation, and problem-solving across industries was clearly demonstrated through examples and case studies.The program also focused on the challenges and risks associated with Generative AI. Issues such as data privacy, bias in AI models, misinformation, deepfakes, intellectual property concerns, and over-dependence on AI tools were discussed. The ethical responsibility of developers and users, the need for transparency, and the importance of responsible AI usage were strongly emphasized. Participants were made aware of the limitations of AI systems and the necessity of human supervision. The program concluded with a summary emphasizing that Generative AI is a powerful technology offering immense opportunities when used responsibly. The awareness program successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of Generative AI, preparing them to face future technological challenges with knowledge and ethical awareness.
